Running, at almost any distance but particularly with longer ones, is a great analogy for many different facets of life (job, relationships, self-improvement, religion, etc.) I find that runners who understand how to wisely plan for running challenges (or really anyone who participates in physical fitness events) are often better prepared to deal with what life has to throw at them.<br /><br />On a lighter note, it's been a few years since I've been to Santa Cruz. I've constructed some of my own distance runs around the city and the outlying areas. Great place to run, eat, stroll, drink, live. Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing is still around, right?
